Flame Resistant Clothing Use Assessment
Flame resistant clothing (FRC) is an element of personal protective
equipment. OSHA requires a hazard assessment prior to deciding
to use PPE and in determining which PPE to use. RRS uses an assessment
protocol
to complete the hazard assessment and provides a decision
basis to determine which tasks FRC should be worn.
Flame Resistant Clothing PPE Hazard Assessment
- Identify flash fire hazards
- Assess the degree of employee/personnel exposure to these hazards
from causes related to specific job tasks.
- Assess the degree of employee/personnel exposure from the
amount of exposure time in the flash fire areas.
- Provide a basis for decision on wearing FRC for specific job tasks
or across the entire site.
