ASSET INTEGRITY MANAGEMENT
Asset Integrity Management provides clients with the skills, tools, and knowledge to effectively reduce the risk associated with operating equipment while increasing overall confidence and reducing associated costs.
Improving quality processes and equipment reliability through development of fabrication standards and specifications, equipment inspection programs and vendor audits forms a third leg in helping clients reduce capital and maintenance costs.
Customers range from Fortune 500 companies in the chemical, refining,
oil & gas, and pulp & paper industries, to the insurance/legal
community, to companies involved in manufacturing and in providing engineering
and construction services.
Integrity of the Pressure Envelope and Structural Integrity
While there is a vast range of conditions and incidents that potentially threaten the technical integrity of a any installation, the most common is containment failure. The focus of Asset Integrity Management is to preserve the integrity of the pressure envelope from threats posed by corrosion and erosion. The asset integrity process also includes structural integrity, where the service methodology is largely similar.
Risk Based Rather Than Rule Based Integrity Management
In these services, the emphasis is on establishing a rational, risk
based, monitoring and inspection regime. The objective is
to focus efforts to best effect, by identifying areas most at risk from
deterioration,
then to apply the most effective techniques at optimum frequency.
An essential element of the system is therefore risk assessments. These
should be performed as early as possible in the design and
construction
phases in order to ensure that the resulting system can be
implemented in harmony with the maintenance and operations functions.
