Goals - To prepare the participant to:
  • Assess sites, work areas and employee tasks for risks of flash fire exposure to employees

  • Make decisions regarding the need for Flame Resistant Clothing (FRC)

  • How to determine exposure risks for flash fire from flammable liquids and gases

  • How to determine exposure risks for flash fire from combustible dusts

  • How to determine exposure risks from electrical arc flashes

  • How to apply FRC to manage risks

  • Issues in the selection of FRC garments

  • Practice using flowcharts, checklists and forms from CMA's "A Manager's Guide for Assessing Flame Resistant Clothing Use".

  • Safety professionals responsible for supporting site assessments for accident risks and personal protective equipment.

  • Engineers and other site staff responsible for evaluating personnel exposure to accident risks.

  • Supervisors and managers responsible for leading safety program management and implementing policy.
